About

Our world was turned upside down when our son, Cayden, was born 9 weeks too soon. He was 1lb 5.9oz, 12.5 inches long. His delivery was unexpected. Like most parents of babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, we were unprepared for the journey that we were about to embark on. NICU was scary and overwhelming, to say the least.

As parents, we wanted our son to know we were there for him, but were unsure what we could do for him. During his 124 day stay, we learned ways we could facilitate the bonding process, as well as multiple resources for families of premature babies. This information helped us to cope with the roller coaster ride full of twists and turns, that is NICU.

We strive to share the information we have learned, and small comfort items with families as soon as possible, so that they may focus on bonding with their baby and surviving NICU.

NICU Kits are delivered to families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Each kit costs approximately $15-20 dollars to make, in addition to approximately $5-10 dollars to ship (depending on location). In order to make a kit, we rely on donated items and sponsors for the kits. NICU Kits are assembled as supplies and donations allow. All donations go into making NICU Kits—no profits are made. Please consider making a donation.

Thank you,
